"I have the utmost respect for Fred and he has my full support in his decision. I am proud of the job he did for us and the city of Chico should be proud as well. He will be missed tremendously on and off the field" said Heat General Manager Hunter Hampton.

The Heat will begin a nationwide search for a new manager immediately and hope to have an announcement shortly on a new manager.
